Maryam Lamei was born in 1985 in Sarab, a historically significant region of Iran known for its greenery. After graduating from the graphic design department, she won a national award in 2015. She has received the 3rd Degree Art Award from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Maryam incorporates the principles of Iranian painting, such as flower and bird techniques, in her own artwork, creating beautiful and innovative pieces. Throughout her career in the art sector, she has been a member of the Iranian Painting Association, the Iranian Visual Arts Association, and the Zanjan Visual Arts Association. Since 2004, she has participated in around twenty painting gallery exhibitions and fairs organized by various museums and cultural institutions. In 2009, she held an individual painting exhibition in Paris, France.
From 2006 to 2014, Maryam Lamei taught courses in the Iranian Painting department at various faculties, universities, and institutes. She has also established painting workshops and art centers in different locations, such as art learning institutes. In 2011 and 2012, she served as a judge in the 18th and 19th International Youth Painting Festivals. In 2010, she became the director of the Visual Arts Institute in Zanjan. In addition to her artistic endeavors during these periods, her works have been published in various journals and books.
